One of the Blue Series Pear shaped bottles. This series grew out of a challenge set at the beginning of the COVID lockdown to produce a piece of art (any art) from 75g of material. I got to work and made 8 small Pear shaped bottles and decided to glaze them in the blue glazes I have on my glaze shelves. The pears are all made of 75g of White St Thomas clay, but are all different – some stand at a cheeky angle, others have larger bottoms. They can all be described as ‘Cute’ !
Pale turquoise is how I would describe this coloured glazed. The crackle has been accentuated by painting ink (yes, good ol’ fashioned ink ) on to the surface and wiping off more or less straightaway.
Stands approx 9cm tall and is a very elegant little Pear I think
The Pear has not been glazed inside and therefore is not waterproof.
