Standing approx 17cm tall and 17cm dia – this is a statement Moon Jar if ever there was one! Do you have a wall, a shelf and table which would be lifted and enhanced by this amazing sculptural piece of pottery. A lovely spherical shape, with a pomegranate opening – glazed with black glaze internally and intense red on the outer surface
The glaze on this Moon Jar has everything I love within it – the intensity of the colour, the texture and the gentle colour variations that give a wonderful sense of movement. The smoke firing has added the smoky tones beautifully. The glaze has a penchant for forming drips and this jar has a lovely example of this.
Handbuilt from earthenware clay and glazed in earthenware – the jar is not suitable for use with liquids.
