Description
The Black Satin Moon Jar – the power of a strong form paired with a simple decorative technique.
Handbuilt Moon Jar using coils of crank clay, placed in 2 hemispherical moulds to hold the clay in shape as it dries. Once the 2 sections are joined together, the surface is painted with black slip. Fired to stoneware, the slip takes on a satin like sheen on the crank clay.
The Moon Jar is approx 15cm by 15cm. Please note crank clay is not waterproof so the jar isn’t usable with water.
